ALKALINE FRIED ‘CHICK’N’

INGREDIENTS:

  • Spelt flour
  • Sea salt
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Oyster mushrooms

INSTRUCTIONS:

Make a wet batter by placing 1 cup of spelt flour in a large mixing bowl along with sea salt, cayenne pepper and your desired (approved) spices. Add water and mix. Batter should be the right consistency to coat mushrooms; not to thick and not to running. Set aside.

Next coat each oyster mushroom in the wet batter once, place it in the bowl. Do that for all pieces.

Pour oil in frying pan and place on medium heat, until it’s very hot. Carefully place mushrooms and fry for 2-3 minutes until desired crispiness.

Place mushrooms on a plate with a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Serve on top of a salad with your favourite dipping sauce.
